UGANDA SCHOOL BUILDING FUND. Help us reach our $6,000 goal to complete a new school building for at-risk children in Uganda! Our native team in Uganda operate an orphanage that serves over 70 children who are among the estimated 1.2 million orphans left behind by HIV/AIDS-stricken families and devastating civil wars. They also operate a day school as a venture philanthropy program, generating income for the orphanage while also offering the local population quality, affordable education. Currently the school is meeting in an outdated temporary facility in danger of collapse (pictured, bottom-right). With help from donors like yourself, there are hopes to complete a new school building to improve the quality of education (existing progress of building pictured top-right). As we expand the school, tuition from new students will enable us to reach more orphans. Among our target demographic are orphan girls as young as 12 years old who all too often end up pregnant in polygamous marriages. A staggering 85% of families in the area where we work are polygamous.
