Myanmar Tractor & Light Truck Fund.

WE NEED A LIFT. For several years our native team in Myanmar has managed to achieve an amazing amount of progress, all with a few bicycles, rented vehicles and hired rickshaws. That's right— all without their own transport, they operate 5 orphanages, shuttle 82 children back and forth to various activities, conduct relief efforts with rented trucks, manage their farmland enterprises and more. This has been significantly limiting and it's urgent that we upgrade for the sake of efficiency and safety.

ANY AMOUNT you can afford to contribute toward this project will make a lasting and exponential impact in our empowering work in Myanmar. Never think your gift is too small. If 1000 people who only have $10 to spare all said "Why bother, what difference will it make?" then we just lost an opportunity to make a $10,000 impact.

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." —Anne Frank

WHAT THIS WILL AFFORD US. $27,000 will provide an imported "mini-cab" (a light truck with a covered back seating area) and a second-hand tractor for the farm. Import duties are extremely high due to corruption in the government. Currently we're operating the farm with oxen and by hand. The tractor will substantially increase our efficiency and yield at the farm. The mini-cab will offer a sizable amount of savings we'd usually spend on hired rickshaws and rented vehicles. In addition to financial benefits, obtaining the ability to transport our children by our own vehicle will offer us a greater degree of safety for the children.

BACKGROUND. Our native team in Myanmar (formerly Burma) is currently operating five orphanages and extending various relief efforts to the local destitute population. Our budget in-country is being supplemented by a farmland enterprise which includes a 12-acre rice farm and a piggery. The country has endured widespread human rights abuses used to repress anyone who opposes the government. Peace Gospel is offering hope and empowerment to the people of Myanmar in the midst of an otherwise hopeless and oppressive environment.

We appreciate you taking the time to consider our appeal on behalf of these we're serving. As always, we appreciate your ongoing response to our fund-raising appeals for our projects. Questions? Comments? Ideas? Give us a shout at info@peacegospel.org.
