INDIA ORPHANAGE SCHOOL BUILDING FUND APPEAL.
Thanks for responding to our appeal to raise support for the new India orphanage school building. The building will offer a kitchen and dining hall on the ground floor, and a second floor with 7 classrooms and 2 offices. Please consider how you might participate in providing these children the proper facilities for their education. Thank you!
Background story: The current facility was built as a temporary solution to get our school certified by the local district education office. We started our own school in 2006 as a security response to kidnappings and a child rape and murder case that occurred in our neighborhood. Previously, the orphans attended the local government school down the road. They approved it conditionally under the assumption that we would improve the building to meet State requirements. Our temporary permit has now expired and they are requiring that we complete the new school building by June of this year in order to keep our certification. We will be able to use the existing foundation and pillars as a starting phase for the expansion required.
