chad images Outreach in Republic of Chad Empowered by Goat Farm. After much prayer and research, in early 2009 we partnered with a local indigenous church in the Republic of Chad to further our mission in the region. Our team, led by our local director Pastor Kolpele, operates an orphanage, a church planting ministry in Chad and Cameroon, as well as a widow's business development program. The orphanage is currently home to 15 children who have been rescued from lives of desperation in war-torn Chad, where human trafficking in the sex trade is a horrible reality. We reach out to widows through a Widow's Seamstress Business Initiative, being conducted from the same facility housing the orphanage. From the years of civil war and rebel uprisings in the country, countless women have been widowed, losing their main source of income. The business initiative is empowering widows with a practical business skill and equipment that allows them to run in-demand businesses out of their homes. As a form of self-support for our projects, our native team maintains a small goat farm to help offset expenses of these programs. We are seeking funding to expand their microenterprise efforts which will in turn expand our ministry reach in the region.
