MYANMAR

Our native team in Myanmar (formerly Burma) is currently operating five orphanages and extending various relief efforts to the local destitute population. Our budget in-country is being supplemented by a farmland enterprise which includes a 12-acre rice farm and a piggery. The country has endured widespread human rights abuses used to repress anyone who opposes the government. Peace Gospel is offering hope and empowerment to the people of Myanmar in the midst of an otherwise hopeless and oppressive environment.

ORPHAN CARE. Due to the crippling effects of extreme poverty and disease in South Asia, millions of children are orphaned, roaming the streets in gangs or falling victim to child prostitution, human trafficking or forced labor. Peace Gospel's orphanages in Myanmar act as safe harbors in the midst of this darkness, offering orphans a way out of the dead-end of despair and hunger. Through the work of our organization, these precious children are provided a loving home centered on Biblical principals.

EMPOWERING IMPOVERISHED FARMERS. Our native team in Myanmar conducts a life-giving and sustainable outreach to the drought and famine-stricken farmers of Myanmar. Most farmers in the region were left so devastated by Cyclone Nargis and subsequent rat infestations that they've never quite been able to recover. Most do not even have enough money to buy the seeds needed to replant their crops. One sack of rice seed costs only $20, and produces 20 sacks of rice which the farmer can sell for about $600— enough to get their family back on financially solid ground. Assuming the farmer's crop is successful, they are encouraged to donate one sack of rice from their harvest to one of our orphanages. Thus your donation is multiplied in more ways than one!
