pig farm Myanmar Work Empowered & Multiplied by Native Pig Farm. Our native team in Myanmar is currently running five orphanages and other outreach efforts, the budget of which is being supplemented by a pig stockbreeding enterprise. Myanmar (Burma) has hardly known any peace since the Japanese invaded in 1942. Tension between various ethnic groups led to bitter civil war. Each region desired independence, but a repressive military government refused to give in. Eventually elections were held in 1990, but even when 85% voted against the regime, they refused to hand over power. Myanmar has essentially been turned into a prison, enduring widespread human rights abuses used to repress anyone who opposes the government. Due to these challenges, we are only able to bring you partial details on our efforts in Myanmar.

Myanmar Orphans Orphan Care. Due to the crippling effects of extreme poverty and disease in South Asia, millions of children are orphaned, roaming the streets in gangs or falling victim to child prostitution, human trafficking or forced labor. Peace Gospel's orphanages in Myanmar act as safe harbors in the midst of this darkness, offering orphans a way out of the dead-end of despair and hunger. Through the work of our ministry, these precious children are provided a loving home where Jesus is the centerpiece of their education and physical well being. Thanks to newly expanded facilities, we now have room to bring in many more children.

Myanmar Believers Empowering the Poor: Seed Distribution. Our native team in Myanmar has recently launched a life-giving and sustainable way to reach out to the drought and famine-stricken farmers of Myanmar. Most farmers in the region were left so devastated by Cyclone Nargis and subsequent rat infestations that they've never quite been able to recover. Most do not even have enough money to buy the seeds needed to replant their crops. As our teams distribute the seeds, there are obvious spiritual parallels to draw from as they reach out with the Gospel message, making both a tangible and spiritual impact in their lives. One sack of rice seed costs only $20, and produces 20 sacks of rice which the farmer can sell for about $600— enough to get their family back on financially solid ground. Assuming the farmer's crop is successful, they are encouraged to donate one sack of rice from their harvest to one of our orphanages. Thus your donation is multiplied in more ways than one!

Myanmar Believers Making Disciples: Church Planting & Support. An integral part of our mission since our founding in 1993, church planting and ongoing support of pastors has resulted in the creation of scores of new congregations. Many of these are in "unreached" areas where the teachings of Jesus Christ had never before been uttered. Most of these congregations meet in homes or outdoors. We've had the blessing of constructing some church buildings to better facilitate their gatherings, and hope to build more as funds permit.
